He had one on the 25th. I was too sick to come with, so here's what he said:
Overall it was pretty uneventful. Dr. J agrees that Spencer's plateau in treatment is due to both the stress of me being so sick and also such poor sleep.
So, sleep is our big focus right now. spencer was prescribed clonazepam and his neurontin dosage was increased. He doesn't like taking drugs, but at this point we need to do what it takes to help him sleep.
He told me that he doesn't remember ever waking up last night. Whenever I woke up, I could tell he was in deep sleep. Yay!
Please be praying that his sleep will improve. this is key in helping his body heal.
Dr. J was optimistic about Spencer's recovery and was genuinely sympathetic about our situation. He said he was very optimistic that we both are heading in the right direction - it's just going to be a slow process.
Spencer will be doing the same protocol for the summer and in the fall, will begin to take longer breaks between treatment cycles.
So, there's what's going on.
Next Monday, the 31st, I start a new treatment cycle with a new drug - Tygecycline. Tyg is notorious for causing severe nausea and often vomiting. It's a really effective drug for killing off Lyme spirochetes though, so the horrible side effects are worth it. My trial dose last week was rough and I was really sick for days after from the die-off.
Dr. J prescribed an arsenal of anti-nausea meds for me, so we'll hopefully be able to manage it. Please be praying that I can handle Tygecycline. Thanks!

Hi Melody,
Wow! I'll be praying that you will experience the grace you need to endure this week of nausea by taking Tygecycline.
I'll also be praying Spencer catches up on his sleep.
Love to you both,
Greta
Hi Melody,
Your mom gave us an update and directed us to this latest post. We are praying for you and Spencer to be growing stronger and to get through these treatments with the expected benefits. May you be encouraged as you remember that our loving Lord encloses you behind and before; and has His stroug healing hand upon you.
May God bless you all you need for healing.
