Spencer's hand surgery

It went really well. The surgeon was able to repair the severed nerve with 12 teeny tiny stitches. Spencer's hand is immobilized with a splint until his follow up appointment in a week (5/26).

He's having a rough time bouncing back from the anesthesia - pretty spacey, dizzy, and just feels "blah." Each day he feels a little better, thankfully, but it's taking a while. Please pray that he will be able to fully recover from the effects of the anesthesia and that his hand will heal properly, with restoration of feeling and function of his thumb.

Between Spencer only having one functional hand and me being so sick, I have a feeling posts will continue to be few and far between. Hopefully one of us will be up for posting a Lyme treatment update soon...

Loving and praying for you both ever' day and many times a day. I hope Spencer's hand and "head" heal up real fine-like. Far away, but always connected closely. Yours always, Dad

I'm so glad the surgeon was able to repair the damage. Lifting you up to God's throne for comfort, strength, and healing.

Melody, part of the reason he's having trouble from bouncing back from the anesthesia is from Lyme and Lyme treatment. I had the hardest time bouncing back from surgery and had no idea that the Lyme bacteria was going crazy from the anesthesia.

Jennifer, that's a really good point.

I agree that Lyme is definitely playing a role in his difficult recovery. His body was compromised to begin with, and anesthesia has really thrown him for a loop.

Melody,
I am happy to hear Spencer is recovering nicely, you both are in my prayers.

Believe me, I know the pain you are in..it is not even describable. I have great faith it will subside some over time.

I know you probably know these things, but pain pure and simple is the spirochetes causing inflammation. Take lots of Omega 3's and Magnesium daily - and the best probiotic is VSL#3 pharmaceutical grade - very strong and works amazingly well (google it). The capsules are what I started using and they are so strong I open them and use half at night before I go to bed. I use Olive Leaf Extract to keep yeast at bay and it works - tests proved it recently. Methyl b12 shots are excellent for the body and I have used them for years - get only Methyl b12 (compound pharmacy) to help w/healing of the nervous system. I could go on all day with what has helped.

Anti-inflammatory natural and RX should help - skip anything w/ acetometaphen, it doesn't help and is hard on the liver.

Stay strong and if I can help - you know where I am.

Peace, prayers for you both,
Dana
